Lmms midi5/22/2023 Rghvdberg is right, Ardour will require a plugin or external app to make any sound on a midi track. If I remember right, LMMS maybe has a similar feature, but it seemed more geared toward electronica with lots of features for building synths and loops and such, which wasn't really what I wanted. Specifically, I like how easily I can ramp up and down different midi CC events, like channel volume, expression, pitch bend, vibrato, etc., by plotting lines. ![]() ![]() Then when Ardour introduced midi, I tried it out and really liked it. I tried Muse, Rosegarden, QTractor, MuseScore, LMMS, and poked around at seq24 a little bit. I started doing midi a long time ago using an app on Win3.1 called MusicTime, then when I switched to Linux I spent years trying different midi apps and was mostly unsatisfied. I'm maybe strange, but I found that I prefer Ardour for MIDI.
